I am continually amazed at the levels to which trademe users both rise and sink. A trademe user contacted me and offered this drive backplane for nothing. It has three 2Gb drives and three 1Gb drives. I'm going to add this item to the auction. Front and Rear.The sucessful bidder could simply keep it as spares, or with a bit of thought could connect this to the qlogic SCSI controller and have some more drives. You would need to connect the SCSI bus and the power connector, and probably a very good idea to protect the rear of the unit too. |

XXX TodoThe message seems to appear more often when the machine is under load, but has never caused any problems that I've noticed.
This is a server and has no audio hardware. However one could add an ISA, EISA or PCI sound card like any normal linux box.
USB does not exist on this machine.

I heard this unit can run Microsoft Windows NT? You heard correctly. However the various Unix options and the Windows option are mutually exclusive, and depend on totally different boot loader.
That wee green display shows a user-programmable string while machine is running. It is most useful at boot time because it displays all sorts of stuff about the POST tests. Here's a recording of the machine booting.
